Truth Reconciled

Trying to make sense of everything

About

My name is Jared Jay. I enjoy pondering about many subjects and I like it when things make sense. I am not often satisfied with answers to questions unless they make sense down to the deepest levels of reasoning.

I’m a scientist by trade and a philosopher on the side. I’ve spent much of my life thinking very hard about difficult questions. I started this blog in February 2023 as a space to share my thoughts and keep track of what I’ve learned. You can expect to find essays about many subjects that have interested me over the years, such as existence, morality, physics, religion, etc. In my blog posts, I’ll do my best to dispel confusion and find the truth.

I completed undergraduate studies in physics and mathematics at Brigham Young University. I went on to earn a PhD in physics from the University of California, Davis, carrying out research in high-energy nuclear and particle physics as part of the CMS Collaboration at CERN. Since 2021, I have worked as a data scientist, participating in the development of artificial intelligence systems for private companies.

As a hobby, I have carried out philosophical research into the origin of existence, the foundation of morality, and many other subjects. Much of my research is published on this blog. The tautological theory of existence, which answers the age-old question of why there is something rather than nothing, was compiled in my first book Existence Solved: the Origin of the Universe and the Laws of Physics in 2024. The tautological theory of morality, which provides the first objective foundation of morality and proves its existence, will be compiled in my next book Objective Morality: the Logical Foundation of Good and Evil in 2026.

When I am not working or carrying out personal research, I am likely to be found drinking hot yerba mate and enjoying good conversation with my lovely wife, spending time with my young children, or taking care of household chores and other responsibilities. I can also be found at church every Sunday.
